Charles joined Capital SCF in May 2010 as a Director working across our Technology and Telecoms practices with particular focus on Private Equity sponsors. 

He has significant corporate finance and corporate broking experience gained at UBS Warburg where he focused on UK and European M&A and secondary market fund raisings, in the IT and Telecoms sector team at RBS Hoare Govett where he covered clients such as Easynet, Cable & Wireless, CMG and Pace Microtechnology and on a two year secondment to The Panel on Takeovers and Mergers.  He has extensive sector transaction experience including the refinancing of Sirvis IT Plc, Oryx International Growth Fund’s acquisition of Baltimore Technologies Plc, National Grid’s £6.3bn merger with Lattice Group, the placing of Marconi’s 49% interest in Easynet, the defence of Astec and the re-listing and re-financing of Azlan Group.  Before joining Capital SCF Charles was a Partner in J O Hambro Capital Management’s activist investment group as well as being responsible for all corporate finance matters involving portfolio companies and co-investors.

Charles has an MA with honours in modern history from Oxford University and an MBA from London Business School.
